The Mall
A marketplace, agora, el mercado, a place to trade, to do business, to do politics, to socialize. Today we call them malls. The Mall is a 20th and 21st century masterpiece. It should be called the capitalist mall because that is where the goods of capitalism are found. That is where everybody is everywhere in the world, at the mall. I took pictures of a popular mall in San Diego, the Fashion Valley Mall. It was created in the 1960’s. Way back then it was called “Fascist Valley Mall.” I have written short poems to go with each piece. They are like haiku, but not.
